Amorphic: Manipulated Polaroid Image Materials: Polaroid image on paper Size: 11 by 9 inches
Process I created a Polaroid image from a slide. I then backed the image with tape and soaked it in warm water. When the emulsion lifted off, I caught it on paper and manipulated it until I was pleased with the image.
Image The original image showed trees in Madison Square Park, New York City (Madison Avenue and East 23rd Street). As I worked with the image it became less & less recognizable until it was amorphic. The work was complete when I could see different images each time I looked at it.
